This is a basic guide on Levelling your commanders up, a vital part of the game.

There are two ways to train your commanders, either through Experience, gained in battles against the AI, or through Gold, gained from most parts of the game.

Gold Levelling

Gold levelling is the use of Gold to level up your commanders. To work out how much it will cost simply multiply the amount of Experience you need by the Rarity of your commander. As such levelling a Mythic 6* to level 10 costs 6x as much as levelling a Common 1* to level 10. This is expensive and gold is generally better spent on other things, unless you need something levelled up quickly.

XP Levelling

This is earning experience to level up your commanders. The most efficient way to level up your commanders is normally events, where you can have 3 teams out in battle but only need to use 1/2 of them to complete the level.

XP Requirements

The experience cost of going up levels is simple to work out. Simply look at the table below and see what level you need to get to, that's the amount of XP you need to obtain. I'm sure you can work out that for partially levelled up commanders you need to subtract the XP you've already earned!

For those who are mathematically minded, this is a slightly odd progression of steps. There is a repeating 4 step increment of 0, 6, 1, 6. (so the first 4 levels cost 13, 13, 19, 20, 26). This is repeated throughout the levels, with exceptions. Every 10 levels, at 7->8, 17->18 etc. the cost increases by x6, where X is the 'Ten' digit of the level you're at plus 1 multiplied by 50. (so for level 7->8 it's 6+(0+1)*50 = 56. for level 17->18 it's 6+(1+1)*50=106. Then the final level is just a fudge to make the total cost 60000, as it increases by 1693 instead of the 6 it should have done.
